On Friday, 3rd of September 2021, we will have a brief but very important ceremony during the 9.30 a.m. Mass for the Parish Enthronement to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This parish Enthronement is an act of Consecration to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and to the Immaculate Heart of Mary as one devotion.
The Alliance of the Two Hearts is an approved Lay Apostolate and two of its members will be present at the Mass to speak on what the Consecration to the Two Hearts involves on an ongoing basis.
On May 18, 1936, Sr. Lucia of Fatima wrote to Fr. Jose Bernardo Gonclaves revealing Jesus’ desire to have the devotion to the Immaculate Heart of His Mother placed side by side to the devotion to His Most Sacred Heart.
The Alliance of the Two Hearts of Jesus and Mary is a term first coined by Pope St. John Paul II in September 1985 where he invited every family to become both ‘Eucharistic and Marian centred’.
This devotion has spread throughout the world and is also here in Ireland where many home Enthronements have taken place. However, due to the shortage of Enthroners to visit individual homes in these current times, this Enthronement has been extended to Consecrate the entire parish. Each and every one of the parish are encouraged to enter into the Alliance whereby Jesus and Mary become King and Queen of their hearts, their homes, their families and their parish. (No two hearts can love us more than the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary).
